"Jewellery By Astha Jagwani"
Jewellery by Astha Jagwani is a fashion jewellery label established by a young designer Astha Jagwani. Her jewellery label today is known for its subtle combination of unique contemporary pieces and the vintage charm of the classic world.
She amalgamates touches of European designs with Indian styles, and sees endless potential in taking the two cultures and entwining them.
Born in Mumbai, and brought up in a creative environment of Jaipur, this creativity wasn’t new to her. Her passion in this field sparked at a very young age when she used to sit and do art and design projects in her mother’s office while the latter worked on her fine jewellery, designs and gemstones. Her mother and sister, both successful jewellery designers played a strong influence to her creative and artistically diverse childhood.
She graduated with a foundation in Art and Design at Central Saint Martin’s London and further went to London College of Fashion to study a degree of Bachelors in Fashion Jewellery.
Her graduation project, ‘Kaleidoscope’ was about experimenting with materials such as chrome and enamel. And that’s when it occurred to her that her true potential and forte lied in creating fashion jewellery.
While she was completing her degree, the Indian market was evolving and gradually opening up to the idea of ‘high-end costume jewellery’. That is when, after moving back to her hometown in Rajasthan, India, her collection, which was a reflection of her experiences in London, found a place for itself in this new-age and experimental market.
Today, her iconic collections include ‘The Jaali collection’, 'The Crystal Collection' and 'Vintage Coin Collection' to name a few. A few bestseller pieces from these collections have also been adorned by Hollywood celebrities such as the evergreen Tyra Banks, Bollywood celebrities such as Sonakshi Sinha, Nargis Fakhri, Ileana D'Cruz , Radhika Apte and the stunning Deepika Padukone. Truly, the journey of her art and creativity is the just the beginning.
